Privacy Policy
What information this site collects, what it is used for, who may receive it, and how you can exercise your rights over it. Written under Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, including Amendment 13.
01Who runs this site
The site ilyamagnes.com (the “site”) is run by the artist Ilya Magnes, Horev 9, Haifa, Israel (the “site operator”), who is responsible for the information collected on it.
By using the site you confirm that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not submit any details on the site.
02What is collected
What you choose to send. Through the contact form: full name, email address, phone number (optional), area of interest, your message, and a photo of your wall or room if you choose to attach one (optional). Also anything you choose to send by email, phone or WhatsApp.
Technical data. The site’s server logs technical data such as IP address, browser and device type and the pages viewed. It is used only to run and secure the site.
There is no sign-up, no user account and no online payment on the site, so no card or payment details are collected.
03What it is used for
- Replying to your enquiry.
- Arranging a studio visit, workshop, evening, lecture or performance.
- Handling the purchase of a work, a print or a commission.
- Running and securing the site and preventing misuse.
- Complying with the law.
The information is never sold or rented, and is not used to build a marketing profile.
04Notice at the point of collection (Amendment 13)
As the law requires, the site operator informs you that:
- You are under no legal obligation to provide the information; it is up to you. Without a name, an email and a message (the fields marked with an asterisk) an enquiry cannot be answered.
- The information goes to Ilya Magnes and is used only for the purposes set out in this policy.
- It may reach the service providers listed in the next section, solely to provide the service.
- You have the right to see the information, to have it corrected and to ask for it to be deleted, as described below.
05Who may receive it
The information is not passed to third parties, except:
- Technical service providers the site needs to work: the web host, and the mail service that delivers form messages to the site operator’s inbox.
- Google Fonts: the site’s fonts load from Google’s servers, so your browser’s IP address reaches Google while you browse.
- Google Analytics: data on how the site is used (pages, where visitors come from, clicks on the contact buttons), subject to your choice in the cookie banner.
- WhatsApp (Meta): only if you choose to get in touch through the WhatsApp button; that conversation is governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
- Where the law, a court order or a competent authority requires it.
Some of these providers operate outside Israel (for example in the EU and the US). Transfers to them follow the Protection of Privacy (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations, 5761-2001.
06Cookies
The site uses only the cookies and local storage it needs to work: remembering your choice in the cookie banner, the language you chose, and your accessibility-toolbar preferences.
The site uses Google Analytics to measure use (which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, and clicks on the contact buttons) in order to improve the site. Analytics cookies are stored only after you agree to them in the cookie banner; without consent, only limited signals without cookies are sent to Google (Consent Mode). There are no advertising cookies on the site.
You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” on the site, or block cookies in your browser settings.
07How long it is kept
Enquiries are kept for as long as they are needed to handle the enquiry and the relationship that follows from it, and for any period the law requires (for example, sale records for tax purposes). After that they are deleted.
08Your rights
Under the Protection of Privacy Law, everyone is entitled:
- To see the information held about them (section 13 of the Law).
- To ask for information that is wrong, incomplete or out of date to be corrected or deleted (section 14 of the Law).
- Not to receive marketing. The site operator sends no marketing messages without explicit prior consent.
Send any request to ilya@ilya.dk. The site operator will reply within 30 days.
If you feel your rights have not been respected, you may contact the Privacy Protection Authority at Israel’s Ministry of Justice. Visitors from the EU / EEA also have the rights given to them by the GDPR, where it applies.
09Security
The site operator takes reasonable, accepted measures to protect the information: an encrypted connection (HTTPS), restricted access to the site’s administration, regular security updates and backups. In the event of a serious security incident, the site operator will act under the Protection of Privacy (Data Security) Regulations, 5777-2017, and notify the Authority and those affected as the law requires.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely safe from unauthorised access.
10Minors
The site is not intended to collect information from minors. Anyone under 18 should get in touch through a parent or guardian.
11Changes to this policy
The site operator may update this policy from time to time. The binding version is the one published on this page; the date of the last update appears at the top.
